Photographing for the CliniClowns always brings me lots of joy. It’s fascinating experiencing how sick children forget they’re sick for a moment, and people with dementia or a disability enjoy feeling seen! CliniClowns truly can make fun and careful moments possible!

Accompanying the Cliniclowns to the Pflege Baumgarten, a Vienniese nursing home for the elderly and people with disabilities, was among the best experiences in my career as a photographer. Witnessing these precious moments of true and sincere connection was very touching. One can see the power of giving people full attention and how it makes them instantly feel better and relaxed. Laughing indeed is the best medicine!
Every year I shoot the annual catalogue for the label elfcraft. They produce jewellery in Sri Lanka. It is always good fun to work together with the designer Wolfgang and our great models.
Glass causes a major threat to birds due to its transparency and reflectivity. When vegetation is reflected in the glass, birds are not able to distinguish between a real tree and its image. There is a solution for this: certain patterns on windows can help to prevent birds from flying into the windows. I was commissioned by Martin Rössler, one of the leading researchers in this field to photograph over 60 panes of glass with different bird friendly patterns on it! What a challenge! After some discussions we decided to work in the studio, so as to have a controlled light setting. This forced us to use a wallpaper in order to simulate nature. Have a look behind the scenes!

Commissioned by an Austrian magazine, I met Bernadette on a hot summer evening in Vienna. She works as a food stylist and it was interesting to see her workplace and studio. In her backyard we arranged this simple little setting for the portrait session.

After meeting the founders of Anagathaya (www.srilanka-zukunft.at) and having the home story photoshoot in Sri Lanka, they asked me to organize a workshop for all of their members! And ta-da…here we are! This wonderful workshop will take place the 9th of May in Vienna, have a look at the following information about the main focus!
A few weeks before my trip to Sri Lanka an article in the “vormagazin”, an Austrian railway magazine, caught my attention: It was about all I need, a beverage based on green tea, produced with fair trade ingredients, one of which is aromatic Sri Lankan ginger! Back home I started doing some internet research and found out that besides a clear commitment to organic cultivation and fair trade, the company also supports education of children and adolescents in Sri Lanka, Tibet and Nepal! This is a great thing! I decided to offer my services and received an immediate answer: the company commissioned me to photograph a home story in Sri Lanka! A few days before departure I also met Michaela and Claudia, the founders of the organisation Ahnagathaya who built a school offering additional mentoring which accommodates more than 100 students.
In Sri Lanka I visited the school, had talks with the teachers and the sweet students and got to know Sampath, one of the most dedicated Sri Lankans I have ever met before! Such a great experience! In Sri Lanka I met the wonderful yoga teacher Moni and her great family. She booked me for a yoga shoot and I was really glad to have a project on this amazing island full of stunning sceneries. An incredible November day and we went to the Donaukanal in Vienna for shooting new yoga pics. My dear friend Laurent is a former dancer and has been practicing yoga for some time now, so it was a pleasure to photograph him while he was fully concentrating on doing his asanas.
Today – 9th of November and a beautiful, sunny day in Vienna. With my good friend Barbara we had a very funny yoga photo shoot, surrounded by crazy happy kids who were busy flying their colourful kites.

In January I started a new photography class in the One World Foundation education unit, Ahungalla, Sri Lanka. My 20 students, all between 17 and 24 years old, were open minded to photography and new ideas. On Friday, 15th of March we had a very successful final exhibition of all the works. In February, 29th the first paint for life members’ forum took place at the Atelierhaus of the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna. During the day I offered a photography workshop together with the photographer Laurent Ziegler.
From October to December 15th, I was teaching photography in the free education unit of the One world Foundation (OWF) in Ahungalla, Sri Lanka. The ngo Paint for life, located in Vienna, awarded me the residence. I designed my classes ike workshops, where the students had the opportunity to create their own work, receive critical feedback and exchange experiences and skills.
